Il disco è stato registrato in due sessioni separate Nella prima hanno partecipato ben harper, juan nelson, leon mobley, jason yates, marc ford, rock deadrick e michael ward. Nella seconda oliver charles ha ripreso il suo posto alla batteria. Ad entrambe hanno collaborato i Blind Boys of Alabama ,gruppo storico della musica gospel nato nel 1939...esattamente trent'anni prima della nascita di Ben Harper.
